Long delivery periods in new building, premium prices due to high demand and fully stretched shipyard capacities, new efficiency technologies, rate changes for cargo and charter, volatility fluctuations of steel and energy prices … ship-owners’ planning is subject to these market fluctuations short-term and long-term. Thus conversion may already be necessary shortly after delivery – especially as conversion is carried out faster than new building.

Part of WIG’s core activities is to precisely define what is necessary and to which extent according to our clients’ requirements regarding technical execution and operating efficiency.

In the project phases of Feasibility Studies, Basic and Detail Design we harmonise in each conversion project anew what is technically feasible and economically sensible as well as ecologically necessary.
